A quick activity in which students roll dice to predict their romantic prospects, drawing from a seventeenth-century London pamphlet. I used this as part of a seminar on fortune-telling, but it could easily be used for a class on love, marriage or gender roles. The source material can spark an interesting discussion about how marriage prospects and priorities differed for men and women.
